Support Resources

Open Mentoring provides performers with several support features.

1. Help
This feature is available throughout the tool and provides users with general information to assist them when they complete exercises within the program, such as telling them what functions various buttons perform, how to complete exercises, and where to type text.

2. Check Progress
This feature lets users keep track of their progress during various exercises, since they may complete some tasks in either linear or random order. This feature appears during agreement negotiations and again during progress assessments. For example, during the negotiation phase, the Check Progress button quickly shows mentees which sections of the agreement they must review and revise.

3. Review Agreement
This feature appears during progress assessments and serves as a reference for both the mentee and mentor to assist them when they evaluate their progress against their established agreement. This button allows performers to review their agreement so they can better assess their progress to date.

4. Print
This support feature allows users to print all of their project information to date, including their mentoring agreement and any adjustments that were made to it, as well as their progress assessments. One example of when this could be especially important is when mentees need to show their mentoring progress as part of a personal development plan that goes into their permanent employee record.

5. Learning Track
This supplemental resource offers performers an opportunity to explore basic mentoring concepts and models, improving their overall knowledge of the subject matter.
