Communication

Open Mentoring uses e-mail technology as a communication platform, which lets the recipient know when the sender completes a section of the program. These messages enhance the mentoring relationship by completing a basic administrative task for the performers, but they do not take the place of predetermined meeting dates during which the performers actually engage in mentoring.

To help facilitate this communication process, the sender is shown the program generated e-mail message that will be sent and given the opportunity to add a personal message. The recipient then sees both the program generated message and the added personal note as a single e-mail.
