Ventix SmartBridge: A Cross-application Knowledge Support System
The purpose of the Ventix System EPSS is to provide end users of mission-critical enterprise applications with answers to questions via in-context access to critical business information. Ventix's mission is to connect those with information to those who need it, providing answers to questions making users more productive while reducing support costs.
SolutionThe Ventix System is the first Knowledge Support System that delivers answers to users based on the user's screen position and role within the company – An answer destination within an enterprise framework. If the answer isn't there, users can query a process expert electronically and capture that answer for re-use. The technology is designed to enable question and answer communication online, while not removing the user from the application or work-in -progress
Ventix serves as a support infrastructure for enterprise applications. Users connect to the system by using a button located within their desktop to get answers to question or online assistance. A self-service application, the user does not even need to know they are interacting with Ventix.

The Ventix System:

FEATURE (SAP Application Example): Users can be directed to appropriate applications based on "how do I’ inquiries. For example, if a "How do I create an order quotation?" Ventix can present the user with an option to launch directly into SAP order quotation application, in addition to displaying policy and procedure information.
Prior StateUser ProfilePrior to development of the Ventix System, many companies that had implemented enterprise applications weren't able to address the support needs of end users. IT budgets were eaten up by implementation costs and support needs were addressed with a "band-aid" approach which consisted of home grown, costly software applications or an overworked help desk staff, who many times could not respond to business process questions.
ResultsAnyone within an organization interacting with enterprise applications can use Ventix, from entry-level to executive-level. The system is designed to connect individuals with information with those who need it. Ventix’s flexible architecture can accommodate expert interaction by business process, department, application expertise, and more.
