| Besides
rather haphazard record-keeping for maintenance and repair work,
how people go about dealing with the dealer or repair shop depends
on whether or not they have been fortunate enough to find a shop
they can trust. The processes are dependent on whether or not the
car is still under warranty in some cases and where the problem
takes place. In many cases the customer needs to take the pragmatic
approach and accept whatever they can get. They need their cars
and will pay to get them back on the road even if they walk away
from the experience feeling victimized and stupid. The situation
is similar to the "dancing bear" analogy from Allen Cooper's
The Inmates are Running the Asylum (1999); there is no other
choice. |
